It's all about the yarn baby!

So it is finally the weekend! My first whole weekend off in forever and I am so looking forward to it.

Unfortunately it seems I am never able to sleep in! I wish those damn batteries in my internal clock would just hurry up and die already.
Sure it is great waking up and watching the sunrise, however by 2 in the afternoon you are ready for a nap.

This morning I woke up to snow on the ground, it was like someone had played a cruel practical joke on me!

Although this is not the weather I would have liked for my weekend off, and it has put a damper in my original plans it is a perfect weekend for snuggling up on the couch with a ball of yarn and my favourite boys (my dogs) and a nice cup of tea.

Those of you with cats know the challenges of crocheting or knitting with frisky critters, well small dogs are  the same. My boys like to fight over the ball of yarn and like to run all over the living room with it while I am trying to crochet. The ball starts on the couch beside me, then knocked to the floor inconspicuously, they jump off the couch and look up at me with their big brown eyes as if to say so innocently "how did that happen?"then as I reach down to pick up the ball of yarn that is when the real fun begins!! and they think it is time to play a game of chase through the living room! And really how could you get mad when they look at you so content and lovingly. You just smile retrieve your yarn and start all over again!

The worse part is not the steal my yarn or make me chase them all through the living room. It's the getting up from your nice comfy spot, the spot that you took the time to make sure everything was just right, tea in arms reach blanket on your lap just right the cushions perfectly fluffed.

I bought a plastic container from the Dollar Store, it came with a lid and I cut a whole in the top. I think I need something bigger because the yarn does not roll smoothy so I kind of gave up using it.

So on this cold dreary day I am going to head off to the public library and pick up a couple of books on crocheting and work on the project I started for my daughter. She recently bought herself a couple of end tables for her bedroom and asked me to make her something to put on them to protect them. So this is my WIP

I bought some amazing Bernat cottontots in Earth Child yarn from MacPherson's Arts in Crafts in St. Marys Ontario you can check out their website here . If you are in the area I suggest you check out their store. They have some many unique yarns that are not featured on their website.

I hope everyone has a fabulous Saturday !
